Volunteer Positions

While many of our Chapters are often recruiting for many of the following roles, not all roles are available at all locations at all times. 

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, complete an interview process, sign a Volunteer Agreement, obtain a Criminal Record Check, and attend a Shelter Movers Orientation session.

Movers and Drivers

Operations Team
Drivers are also Movers, but Movers do not have to be Drivers.
Time commitment: 4-6 hours per move, at least 1 move per month

Move Coordinators

Operations Team
Plans and coordinates all details of a move as well as providing on-call support on the day of a move.
Time commitment: 7-9 hours per month

Intake Coordinators

Operations Team
Gathers all necessary details from clients and referral agencies to ensure that moves are as safe and smooth.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week

Scheduling Coordinators

Recruits volunteers for upcoming moves and supports with on-the-go questions about move schedules.

Onboarding Coordinators

Volunteer Services Team
The first point of contact for new volunteer applicants navigating the onboarding process.
Time commitment: 4 hours per week

Orientation Facilitators

Volunteer Services Team
Leads and presents trauma-informed care orientation to volunteers navigating the onboarding process.
Time commitment: 4-7 hours per month

Engagement Coordinators

Volunteer Services Team
Supports onboarded volunteers' experience through engagement events and retention activities.
Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week

Recruitment Representatives

Volunteer Servcies Team
Attends in-person and virtual events to recruit volunteers and spread awareness in the community.
Time commitment: 1-2 events per week

Fund Development Team
Supports Philanthropy events through networking, planning, budgeting, set-up/breakdown, and evaluation.
Time commitment: 7-9 hours per month

English / French Translators

Marketing & Communications Team
Translates and proofreads social media posts, emails, policies, campaigns, and more between French and English.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week
