Meet Michelle!
As the Volunteer Services Manager for Shelter Movers Waterloo Region (SMWR), Michelle works collaboratively with the executive team to ensure the volunteer onboarding process runs smoothly and efficiently, while obtaining objectives and fulfilling Shelter Movers’ mission. Michelle joined SMWR because she wanted to do something meaningful with her spare time and get more involved in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
Having previous volunteer experience, it seemed like a great opportunity to apply myself towards an important movement in bettering our community.

Michelle says her experience volunteering with Shelter Movers has been extremely rewarding, and she finds motivation when working alongside a collective group of like-minded individuals who care about making a difference and contributing to a greater good. One of Michelle’s favourite memories with Shelter Movers was attending the 2021 Cambridge Santa Claus Parade.
[The 2021 Cambridge Santa Claus Parade] was a heartwarming experience interacting with the energetic crowd, all while having the pleasure to represent the organization alongside fellow volunteers

In her free time, Michelle enjoys relaxing, playing the piano, travelling, and spending time with her significant other and friends.
Fun fact: Michelle grew up in Uxbridge but has been living in Kitchener since 2018
Her advice for volunteers?
Always remember the importance of what we do and the impact we have on survivors. We continue to support a cause where resources are lacking and demand is growing. I look forward to contributing to the development and successes of our chapter together
Michelle
Thank you, Michelle, for all the hard work and positivity you have brought to our chapter!
