The team at Advanced Storage Centres is helping to end the cycle of abuse and violence against women the best way they know how: by supporting Shelter Movers to provide safe and convenient storage for our clients. With locations all over the Lower Mainland, Advanced Storage Centres has been creating positive change in the local community through its collaboration with Shelter Movers.
Advanced Storage Centres first became acquainted with Shelter Movers in early 2019. After learning about how we assist survivors of gender-based violence with free moving and storage services, the company was eager to get involved. Leaving an abusive relationship is the most dangerous time for people experiencing violence. By supporting Shelter Movers, Advanced Storage Centres empowers survivors when they need it the most.
“We’re very proud to be able to help and support this amazing project,” says Dayane Leite, the Vancouver Branch Manager. “Every time we find new space, we’re more than happy to help.” It’s clear Advanced Storage Centres is passionate about getting vulnerable British Columbians to safety. The team is proud of its work and takes pride in providing access to secure and reliable storage. This valuable contribution gives women and children peace of mind, knowing their valued belongings are safe and sound as they transition to lives free of violence.
In addition to their support, Advanced Storage Centres’ exceptional work has been clear from the start. The high standard of the team’s services was recognized at the 2020 Small Business BC Awards, where they placed within the top 5% of businesses in the province.
“Advanced Storage Centres’ customer focus and attention to quality have been evident from the very beginning of our relationship,” notes Brian, our Vancouver Chapter Director. “It has been a pleasure working with such an amazing team!”
When asked what the organization hopes to accomplish through collaborating with Shelter Movers, Melanie Barton, the Operations Manager, expressed the significance of building relationships in the community by empowering local women. “We’re happy to be able to help and do something different that can support women and children who need it,” Barton says. “It’s really important.”
As a non-profit organization, Shelter Movers relies on collaborating with local businesses. Without partners like Advanced Storage Centres, we would not be able to provide our services to women leaving abuse at no cost. We are so thankful for the support Advanced Storage Centres has shown us thus far, and we look forward to continuing and enhancing this partnership with them.
We are strengthening our ties with like-minded individuals and businesses in Vancouver. If you would like to discuss ways we might be able to work together, please contact our Vancouver Chapter Director at brian@sheltermovers.com.
