Meet our volunteers

“Domestic abuse is a reality in Canada for too many women and their children. [...] I was so deeply touched to meet the team at Shelter Movers, which helps women transition to shelters - but also into new homes, new lives and newly found freedom.”

Ben
Shelter Movers Toronto

“Beyond all the amazing work we do, the next best thing I think with Shelter Movers is the people you volunteer with. Every move I’ve been on has people coming from all over the city. From people you’ve worked with before, to new volunteers, they are all amazing individuals.”

Kira
Shelter Movers Vancouver

"In a world where we can easily become judgemental, helping someone out of a challenging situation gives me insights into how to understand what others are going through in their lives. I learn something new on every move."

Lisa
Shelter Movers Ottawa

"I've volunteered with other organizations in my community, but the impact is so clear and immediate with Shelter Movers. You are truly side by side with survivors as they take those first crucial steps towards safety."
